Nollywood filmmaker Dimbo Atiya is dead.
The acclaimed movie director was reported to have passed away on Thursday morning.
The news was made public by the founder of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, in an Instagram post on Thursday.
He wrote; “Dimba Atiya is dead. The top Nollywood director passed on this morning. Details later.”

Reacting to the development, actor Mofe Duncan also mourned the late director in a post on Instagram, describing his death as a painful loss to the entertainment industry.
Sharing Atiya’s photo, he wrote; “God no, not Dimbo. I’m devastated. One of the greatest minds of the entertainment industry.”
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of Atiya’s death had not been disclosed.
His passing comes just hours after reports emerged of the death of Nollywood actress Tope Osoba.
